The Pholela Institute Alumni Association is a voluntary association of all former pupils of the famous high school based in Bulwer, KwaZulu Natal. The Alumni Association was started in 2017 following a meeting of former pupils on the 2nd of December 2017. This inaugural meeting mandated a voluntary committee, known as the Pholela Institute Alumni Association Central Committee (PIAACC), to drive the formal of establishment while also engaging the key stakeholders such as:
The School Management
The School Governing Body
The Presbyterian Church
The Department of Basic Education
The PIACC has also established a draft constitution which will be adopted at the next annual general meeting of the Alumnus. Although the first meeting was dominated by pupils that were at the school from the period 1986 -1995, the association is for all generations. The PIACC has been hard at work to ensure that its composition represents a diversity of generations.
Our Objectives
The main objective of the Alumni Association is to bring the school back to its former glory by playing a meaningful supporting role to the school and its management. In addition, the Alumni Association provides a networking platform among former pupils so that they can continue to grow individually and collectively by tapping into each other’s knowledge and experience.
